Homecomputer (DE)

Homecomputer was a German multi-format magazine published by Roeske (1983-85) and Tronic-Verlag (1985-86). It started as a monthly magazine in Mar 1983, and turned bi-monthly with the Feb/Mar 1985 issue. The final issue was published in Aug/Sep 1986, after which it was incorporated into Computronic magazine.

Vertically scrolling ski game. High scores can be saved on cassette, and there are three highscore tables: Ewigen (eternal, all scores ever achieved), Tagesbestenliste (daily best scores, all the scores from the current day), and Personlichen (personal, the best score of everybody who has ever played).

Controls:
Z (left), / (right). To start a new game, press N (neues spiel) in the menu, use + and - to select your name from the list, or press Return on a blank line and type your name.

Shoot the robots using two guns. The first gun moves horizontally across the bottom of the screen, press Space to set the position. The second gun then moves vertically up the side of the screen, again press Space to set the position. Your shot will be fired where both guns intersect.

Graphic adventure. You must rescue Jane, who has been kidnapped by Dracula and taken to his haunted house. The game starts at 2pm, twilight begins at 6pm, and it will get completely dark at 8pm if you have not found the candle & matches. If the computer tells you to eat, then you MUST eat within 2 hours of play (2 minutes in real time). Dracula can only be killed between 8am and 5pm because he is not in the coffin at night.

Use two-word commands e.g. GEH TUER (go door) or SIEH FENSTER (see window).
